With Spring comes not only good weather but also good news. Girona has recovered its most appreciated event “Temps de Flors” after being forced to cancel the 2020 edition due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
It is likely that many of you readers are wondering: And what does Temps de Flors consist of? Well you see, it is a classic tradition that has been celebrated in the city of Gerona since 1954, created by Maria Cobarsí. It consists of an exhibition of flowers that every May, for a week, flood the city and its spaces, turning the different buildings, patios, corners and monuments into magnificent and special ornate gardens. Such a visual spectacle of striking colors as well as revitalizing fragrances has made this holiday an attraction to people from all over the world, making it a cultural heritage of the Catalan city.
This year a total of 92 projects will be held from May 8th to 16th, which have been distributed by nine neighborhoods of the city. During the inauguration, an emotional farewell was made to one of its founders, the cultural activist Josep Tarrés.
On the other hand, the restrictions due to the pandemic have meant that each year's flower show has limited its capacity in addition to being divided into four routes to avoid crowds while controlling the number of visitors in the venues, like the one in the old town of Girona. Route 1 is that of the old town; Route 2 is in Fontajau; Route 3 focuses on Sant Narcís, Santa Eugènia and Can Gibert del Pla; and finally, Route 4 is located in the Eixample, La Devesa, Pla de Palau and Montilivi. Also, the signs and directions to follow the different routes have been arranged favoring the one-way direction, thus contributing to the safety of all.

Con la Primavera no sólo llega el buen tiempo sino también las buenas noticias. Y es que Girona ha recuperado su más apreciado evento Temps de Flors tras verse obligada a cancelar la edición de 2020 debido a la pandemia causada por la COVID-19.
Es probable que muchos de vosotros, lectores, os estéis preguntando: ¿Y en qué consiste Temps de Flors? Pues veréis, es una clásica tradición que se celebra en la ciudad de Gerona desde 1954 creado por Maria Cobarsí. Consiste en una exposición de flores que cada mes de mayo, durante una semana, inundan la ciudad y sus espacios convirtiendo a los distintos edificios, patios, rincones y monumentos en magníficos y especiales jardines ornamentados. Semejante espectáculo visual de colores llamativos así cómo aromas revitalizantes ha convertido esta festividad en una atracción a gente de todo el mundo, convirtiéndolo en patrimonio cultural de la ciudad catalana.
Este año se celebra del 8 al 16 de mayo un total de 92 proyectos los cuáles han sido distribuidos por nueve barrios de la ciudad. Durante la inauguración se ha hecho una despedida emotiva a uno de sus fundadores, el activista cultural Josep Tarrés.
Por otro lado, las restricciones a causa de la pandemia han hecho que la muestra floral de cada año haya limitado su aforo además de haber sido dividida en cuatro rutas para evitar aglomeraciones al tiempo que se realiza un control del número de visitantes en los recintos, como el del casco antiguo de Girona. La Ruta 1 es la del casco antiguo; la Ruta 2 se encuentra en Fontajau; la Ruta 3 se centra en Sant Narcís, Santa Eugènia y Can Gibert del Pla; y, por último, la Ruta 4 se sitúa en el Eixample, la Devesa, el Pla de Palau y Montilivi. A su vez, las señalizaciones e indicaciones para seguir las distintas rutas han sido dispuestas favoreciendo el sentido unidireccional, contribuyendo así a la seguridad de todos.
